Ban Khrua
My first acquaintance with the Ban Khrua community happened early in the morning. I stepped out of my hotel for a walk, followed the canal, and could not stop until the walkway ran out. What struck me then was that amid the skyscraper jungle, the noise of roads and the rhythm of a big city, you could suddenly find yourself in a Bangkok from some bygone time.
Roof Cats

Khun Maew of Wat Arun and Her Friends
Rules are invented by people for people. They have absolutely nothing to do with cats.
Contest of Curls

A Ferry to Nirvana
The first morning passenger on the BTS – that’s me, on a Sunday. For the first time I found myself in a completely empty skytrain car.
The Cable-Walker of Ban Khrua
A kitten tightrope-walker on the notorious Thai wires, gripping with all four paws above my head at dawn.
Princess of Ban Khrua
Lounging in the shade under the awning, enthroned on a blue plastic chair, waiting on the evening fish – now that’s the life!
